Animal Farm Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD + Region B Blu-ray presents Britain’s first animated feature in a UK import release from the BFI. Adapted from George Orwell’s classic political allegory, the film follows the animals of Manor Farm as they rise up against the cruel Farmer Jones and attempt to build a fairer society of their own.
 
But the revolution soon gives way to corruption, control and betrayal, turning the animals’ dream of equality into something far darker. Directed and produced by animation pioneers John Halas and Joy Batchelor, Animal Farm remains a landmark of British animation and one of the most significant screen adaptations of Orwell’s work.
 
Long promoted as a distinctly British production, Animal Farm later became known for its covert CIA funding and its altered ending, a controversial change from Orwell’s original vision that has shaped much of the film’s legacy. Newly restored in 4K by the BFI from the original 35mm Successive Frame negative, this limited edition includes Dolby Vision, HDR10 compatibility, English HoH subtitles, book, poster, postcards and slipcase.
