Blending black comedy, absurdist satire and crime cinema, Buffet Froid follows unemployed drifter Alphonse Tram as he wanders through a bizarre world of accidental murders, strange encounters and deadpan philosophical conversations. After his wife is killed, Tram forms unlikely relationships with both a police inspector and the man responsible, drifting through increasingly surreal situations across empty apartment blocks, train stations and anonymous urban spaces.
