In a quiet English village, a professor obsessed with the supernatural begins to lose his grip on reality, while his black cat appears connected to a series of strange and deadly incidents. As suspicion spreads through the village, the film builds an atmosphere of dread, paranoia and gothic mystery.
 
Starring Patrick Magee in his final lead role, alongside Mimsy Farmer, David Warbeck, Al Cliver and Dagmar Lassander, The Black Cat features cinematography by Sergio Salvati, effects by Paolo Ricci and music by Pino Donaggio.
