big-helium-dog-collectors-edition-blu-ray
Big Helium Dog (Collector's Edition) [Blu-ray]

Big Helium Dog Blu-ray rescues a long-lost slice of late-’90s indie comedy from the View Askew orbit, executive produced by Kevin Smith and packed with familiar faces from cult American comedy. Thought to be unreleased for decades, this fast-paced sketch-driven satire finally arrives on Blu-ray in a newly restored collector’s edition.

Anchored by a deliberately absurd premise — the misadventures of the world’s dumbest man as he loses his best friend, his job, and nearly causes societal collapse — Big Helium Dog leans into anarchic humour, rapid-fire gags, and cameo-heavy chaos. The film features appearances from Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, and Erik Stolhanske of Broken Lizard, alongside Michael Ian Black, Lorene Scafaria, and Kevin Smith himself, capturing a very specific era of post-Clerks indie comedy energy.

Directed by Brian Lynch, who would later go on to write major studio hits like Minions and The Secret Life of Pets, Big Helium Dog stands as a fascinating time capsule of DIY comedy filmmaking, now presented in high definition with extensive archival extras, commentaries, and behind-the-scenes material.

directed by: brian lynch
starring: matt kawczynski, kevin heffernan, steve lemme, erik stolhanske, michael ian black, lorene scafaria, kevin smith
1999 / 93 min

Language: English
Audio: LPCM 2.0 stereo
Discs: 1

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0747/8096/6982/files/file_1b12cf31-1c64-431a-abe3-f3ea54a6ea9d.jpg?v=1791342699
