Blood Of Revenge Blu-ray brings director Tai Kato’s first yakuza film to high definition in a vivid tale of honour, vengeance, and gangland power struggles. Set in Osaka in 1907, the upstart Hoshino gang attempts to assassinate the boss of the powerful Kiyatatsu syndicate. The failed hit ignites a violent feud of sabotage and retaliation, culminating in senior lieutenant Kikuchi (Koji Tsuruta) taking justice into his own hands.
Co-written by Norifumi Suzuki and featuring a commanding central performance from Tsuruta, Blood Of Revenge stands as a prime example of Toei’s classic “chivalrous” yakuza cycle. With bold production design, expressive colour, and striking compositions, Tai Kato transforms a timeless underworld narrative into a visually dynamic crime drama.
