Frankenstein [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Frankenstein 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray presents Guillermo del Toro’s spellbinding 2025 adaptation of Mary Shelley’s enduring gothic classic in a director-approved Criterion Collection special edition. A deeply personal work from a filmmaker long fascinated by the space between humanity and monstrosity, the film brings new emotional depth and dark grandeur to one of modern literature’s most iconic myths.

Told through the shifting perspectives of Victor Frankenstein and the creature he creates and rejects, del Toro reframes the story as a tragic tale of fathers, sons, ambition and inherited pain. Oscar Isaac stars as the brilliant but callous Victor, while Jacob Elordi brings haunting sensitivity to the creature at the centre of the legend.

Lavish, operatic and emotionally charged, Frankenstein is a gothic vision of creation, cruelty and longing from one of contemporary cinema’s great visual storytellers. This Criterion 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray edition includes the theatrical version and Frankenstein: The Reborn Cut, a new extended director’s cut, along with commentary, documentary, craft conversations, Q&As, composer interview, trailer and an essay by Christopher Frayling.
