The Grizzly Blu-ray resurrects William Girdler’s shamelessly entertaining slice of nature-run-amok cinema, a film often remembered as the pinnacle of post-Jaws creature chaos. Released less than a year after Spielberg’s blockbuster, this independent hit follows an enormous 18-foot grizzly tearing through a state park as rangers, pilots and naturalists scramble to halt its carnage. Starring Christopher George, Andrew Prine and Richard Jaeckel, the film balances rough-edged action, rugged wilderness atmosphere and pure exploitation energy. Newly presented from a 2K scan of the internegative, this edition offers the sharpest and most complete home release Grizzly has had, expanding its cult legacy for modern collectors.
