Often known under its alternate title Angel of Vengeance, the film follows Thana, a mute seamstress whose life is violently shattered after a brutal assault. When a second attack pushes her past the point of survival, she retaliates, taking possession of a .45 calibre handgun and unleashing her trauma-fuelled fury on a city she now sees as irredeemably predatory.

Unflinching and deeply unsettling, Ms. 45 stands as one of the most provocative entries in the rape-revenge canon, elevated by Zoë Lund’s haunting, wordless performance and Ferrara’s grimy, street-level aesthetic. Shot with an almost documentary immediacy, the film transforms urban alienation and female rage into something feral and unforgettable. Arrow Video’s limited edition 4K release preserves the film’s controversial power while offering extensive contextual supplements that explore its themes, legacy, and place within Ferrara’s career.

directed by: abel ferrara
starring: zoë lund, steve singer, jack thibeau
1981 / 80 min / 1.85:1 / English mono

Language: English

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0747/8096/6982/files/file_fcaf5d73-695e-41d2-8108-1a5a03b2a0e8.webp?v=1791342816
