His arrival places him at odds with saloon culture, crooked characters and the villainous Hogo Fogo, all while the film gleefully parodies the conventions of classic Hollywood Westerns.

Combining musical comedy, rapid-fire sight gags and satire of advertising and corporate branding, Soda Pop Joe was the first of three comedies Lipský made with writer Jiří Brdečka.
