Sparrow Special Edition with CD Soundtrack Blu-ray presents Johnnie To’s 2008 Hong Kong film in an Australian import region free release. Shot across several years between other projects, the film is a playful, stylish love letter to Hong Kong, built around pickpockets, romance, danger and the rhythm of the city.

Simon Yam stars as Kei, the leader of a group of pickpocket brothers whose carefully balanced world changes when a mysterious woman, played by Kelly Lin, enters their lives. What follows is a graceful series of encounters, schemes and set pieces, blending crime, comedy, romance and To’s unmistakable sense of movement.

Elegant, light on its feet and full of visual charm, Sparrow is one of Johnnie To’s most purely pleasurable films. This Special Edition includes a pressed CD soundtrack by Xavier Jamaux and Fred Avril, new commentary, new video essay, archival interviews, premiere and press materials, making-of featurette, trailers, improved subtitles, booklet, slipcase and reversible artwork.
