Starring Tom Berenger as a battle-scarred mercenary who goes undercover in a dangerous high school, the film delivers tough ’90s action, undercover tension and explosive payback.

Shale returns home from combat only to find that violence has followed him back into civilian life. After his girlfriend is attacked by a ruthless group of teenagers, he poses as a substitute teacher at the local high school, determined to expose the criminal network operating inside.

With help from his team of mercenaries, Shale sets a trap for the ringleaders and brings battlefield tactics into the classroom. Also starring Ernie Hudson, Diane Venora, Glenn Plummer, Marc Anthony and Luis Guzmán, The Substitute arrives in a new 4K restoration of the original theatrical cut with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and limited edition hardcase packaging.
