Tromeo and Juliet Blu-ray presents Lloyd Kaufman’s 1996 cult reworking of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, filtered through Troma’s mix of punk energy, black comedy, violence and underground filmmaking.

Tromeo and Juliet are young lovers caught between feuding families while navigating the chaos of Manhattan’s underground scene. Their relationship unfolds through a deliberately outrageous blend of romance, satire and exploitation-style excess.

Written by James Gunn and directed by Lloyd Kaufman, Tromeo and Juliet features Will Keenan, Jane Jensen, Sean Gunn, Debbie Rochon and Lemmy Kilmister, with a hard-edged soundtrack and the hyperactive style that helped make the film one of Troma’s signature 1990s releases.
