Following his success with The Iron-Fisted Monk, Hung was given greater creative freedom at Golden Harvest, allowing him to blend technical authenticity, sharp humour, and ferocious fight choreography into a film that remains a benchmark for the genre.

Cashier Hua (Casanova Wong) lives a quiet life working at a local bank, frequently dispensing advice to his friend Fat Chun (Sammo Hung). That simplicity is shattered when Hua uncovers a conspiracy to assassinate the town mayor and is brutally left for dead. Realising he is no longer safe, Hua is urged to seek protection by mastering Wing Chun under the legendary Leung Tsan (Leung Kar-Yan). As Hua’s skills sharpen, his association with Leung draws the attention of the same ruthless figures who tried to kill him — setting the stage for escalating confrontations defined by speed, precision, and raw physicality.

Predating both the Ip Man series and Hung’s own The Prodigal Son, Warriors Two stands as one of the earliest films to present Wing Chun with genuine respect for its techniques and philosophy. Balancing lighthearted character moments with relentless combat, the film delivers some of the tightest and most influential fight scenes of the era, cementing its reputation as one of the greatest martial arts films ever made.

directed by: sammo hung
starring: casanova wong, sammo hung, leung kar-yan
1978 / 95 min

Language: Cantonese
Audio: stereo
Discs: 1

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0747/8096/6982/files/file_e8495cc3-2e35-44a1-8291-27117e3d1db5.jpg?v=1791342685
