What We Accept

We accept a wide variety of books and media in reusable condition. Choose a category below for more details.

Where Your Donations Go

Peak Books is a Calgary business built around responsible reuse. Most donated books and media are not simply resold. Many items that may not be suited for resale are still perfectly reusable, so we work to give them a meaningful second life through schools, hospitals, libraries, nonprofits, community organizations and other local initiatives.

When an item cannot be reused or redistributed, we recycle it whenever possible to help keep it out of landfills.

Organizations Your Donations Have Helped

A selection of organizations that have benefited from donated books and media.

Why do I need to submit the donation form first?

Donation intake may be paused depending on our current capacity. If the form is available, submit it before dropping anything off. You’ll receive an automated email with the Calgary drop-off location, current hours and any instructions you’ll need.

Do you offer donation pickup?

At this time, donations are accepted by drop-off only. Please submit the donation form before bringing anything by.

What if I’m not sure whether you can accept something?

Check the What We Accept section above first. If you’re still unsure about an item or unusual donation, please contact us before bringing it by.

Is there a limit to how much I can donate?

Yes. Please bring no more than 20 bags or boxes per drop-off. If you have more than 20, simply split your donation into multiple drop-offs.

Do you accept school or library discards?

Please contact us first about school or library discard books. We can only accept these on a limited basis.

Can organizations request books or media?

Yes. If you represent a school, library, nonprofit, charity, church or community organization looking for reusable books or media, please contact us to discuss what may be available.
