A Desert [Blu-ray]

A Desert Blu-ray presents a stark, unnerving descent into America’s modern wasteland, where art, obsession, and nihilism collide. Following a photographer on a road trip through the American Southwest, the film gradually peels back the myth of open roads and creative freedom, revealing a violent undercurrent beneath the landscape. As his fixation deepens, he pulls his wife and a morally ambiguous private detective into a nightmare world shaped by alienation, exploitation, and creeping dread. Bleak, confrontational, and visually striking, A Desert uses the vastness of the Southwest to reflect a spiritual emptiness at the heart of its characters.

Released by Dark Sky Films, a genre-focused distributor dedicated to preserving and championing boundary-pushing cinema, this edition arrives as a special limited release. The Blu-ray includes a slipcover designed by Adam Maida, strictly limited to 1,000 units, and is supported by an extensive set of commentaries and contextual supplements that explore the film’s themes and striking visual approach.
