A Hyena In The Safe [Blu-ray]

A Hyena In The Safe Blu-ray delivers a long-lost Italian genre oddity that fuses caper mechanics with giallo paranoia and psychedelic excess. Six criminals reunite months after a diamond heist, each holding a key to the same safe and each expecting an equal cut. But before the vault can be opened, the group begins to die one by one, turning greed into terror as suspicion closes in from all sides.

Directed and co-written by Cesare Canevari, the film plays like a stylish pressure-cooker mystery, blending dark humour, flamboyant late-1960s visuals, and wildly inventive death scenes. As alliances fracture and motives unravel, the film’s free-spirited attitude and surreal flourishes push the story beyond a standard whodunit into something stranger and more delirious.

Beautifully restored and presented on Blu-ray for the first time anywhere in the world, A Hyena In The Safe stands as a fascinating crossover between classic giallo, crime cinema, and pop-art experimentation, finally receiving the attention it deserves.
