A Walk In The Sun: The Definitive Restoration [Blu-ray]

A Walk in the Sun Blu-ray presents Lewis Milestone’s definitive WWII classic in a newly restored edition that captures the lived experience of ordinary American soldiers during the Allied invasion of Italy in 1943. Following a platoon from the Texas Division of the U.S. Fifth Army on a perilous mission to destroy an enemy bridge and seize a heavily guarded farmhouse, the film focuses not on grand strategy but on fear, fatigue, doubt, and quiet courage under relentless heat and pressure. Featuring an exceptional ensemble led by Dana Andrews, Richard Conte, and Norman Lloyd, and driven by Robert Rossen’s literate, ground-level screenplay, A Walk in the Sun remains one of the most human and unsentimental portraits of infantry warfare ever filmed. Restored from archival elements and preserved in the National Film Registry, A Walk in the Sun Blu-ray stands as an essential work of American war cinema.
