Absurd [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Absurd 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray brings Joe D’Amato’s infamous follow-up to Anthropophagous to UHD for the first time in North America. Also known as Anthropophagous 2, Zombie 6, Horrible and Monster Hunter, this notorious Italian exploitation shocker delivers a grim suburban nightmare with the relentless energy and outrageous excess of early ’80s Euro-horror.

George Eastman stars as an unstoppable killer whose trail of violence leads into a quiet American neighbourhood, where police, doctors, clergy and a terrified family become caught in a night of escalating terror. Borrowing the shape of the slasher film and filtering it through D’Amato’s wild Italian genre sensibility, Absurd stands as one of the most infamous Video Nasty-era horror titles.

This two-disc Severin Films collection includes both the English and Italian versions, scanned in 4K from the original camera negative. Featuring new and archival interviews with Joe D’Amato, Luigi Montefiori, Michele Soavi and more, Absurd arrives in a definitive North American UHD edition for collectors of Italian horror and cult exploitation cinema.
