An American Hippie in Israel [Deluxe Edition] [Blu-ray]

An American Hippie in Israel Blu-ray finally resurrects one of cult cinema’s most notorious lost oddities, presented by Grindhouse Releasing in a deluxe home video edition. Writer-director Amos Sefer’s surreal, confrontational fever dream collides counterculture excess with political provocation, unleashing machine-gun-wielding mimes, robots, sharks, free-love chaos and unfiltered anti-war monologues from raving hippies pushed to the edge. Long whispered about and rarely seen, the film stands as a uniquely unhinged artifact of early-1970s underground cinema, equal parts exploitation, allegory and outsider art. This An American Hippie in Israel Blu-ray restores the original U.S. theatrical version and contextualizes its cult legacy with extensive archival and newly produced extras.
