Babes in Arms (US Import) [Blu-ray]

Mickey Moran and his friends are children of vaudeville performers whose livelihoods have been overtaken by changing tastes. Rather than leave their families’ troubles to the adults, the youngsters decide to stage a show of their own and raise the money their parents need.

Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland lead the first of their celebrated barnyard musicals, with Busby Berkeley directing the energetic performances and backstage struggles. Rooney’s turn as the determined young organiser earned an Academy Award nomination, while Garland brings her voice and warmth to the children’s effort to prove that show business still has a place for them.
