A songwriter enrols at a women’s college to win back his estranged wife, a swimming coach. Red Skelton and Esther Williams star in George Sidney’s musical comedy, supported by Basil Rathbone, Donald Meek, Janis Paige and Margaret Dumont.
Xavier Cugat supplies Latin American music and Harry James brings swing, alongside Skelton’s comedy and Williams’s swimming. The aquatic finale combines choreographed swimmers, water jets and fire effects. Conceived as Mr. Co-Ed and primarily a Skelton vehicle, the production changed emphasis as Williams emerged as its attraction, helping launch her MGM swimming musicals. Dorothy Kingsley, Allen Boretz and Frank Waldman receive writing credits.
