Bend of the River [Blu-ray]

Bend of the River Blu-ray delivers a classic frontier adventure from director Anthony Mann, pairing sweeping landscapes with moral tension and survival on the edge of the American West.

Reformed outlaw Glyn McLyntock (James Stewart) leads a wagon train from Missouri to the Oregon Territory, guiding settlers toward a new life in the Columbia River Basin. When their supplies are stolen and winter looms, McLyntock is forced back into conflict, navigating betrayal, shifting alliances and the harsh realities of frontier justice. As trust erodes and danger closes in, the journey becomes a test of both character and survival.

Anchored by strong performances and dynamic action, the film blends western spectacle with psychological depth, highlighting Mann’s signature approach to the genre. Restored in 4K from the original 35mm three-strip negative, this presentation preserves the film’s rich colour and expansive cinematography.
