This three-disc Arrow Video collection restores Whirlpool, Vampyres and The Coming of Sin in 2K from original film elements, offering a long-overdue spotlight on Larraz’s provocative and visually distinctive early career.

Spanish-born director José Ramón Larraz crafted films that were by turns erotic, unsettling, artful and transgressive. From the psychological decay of Whirlpool (1970), to the cult lesbian vampire classic Vampyres (1974), and the dreamlike, controversial The Coming of Sin (1978), this set captures a filmmaker operating at the intersection of arthouse sensuality and exploitation shock.

Together, these films reveal a singular voice in 1970s European genre cinema — one fascinated by obsession, sexuality and the blurred line between fantasy and violence.
