Blue Thunder (Limited Edition) [4K Ultra HD]

Blue Thunder 4K Ultra HD Limited Edition brings John Badham’s explosive 1983 techno-thriller back in a new 4K restoration from the original negative. A defining snapshot of Reagan-era paranoia, the film fuses blockbuster spectacle with a razor-sharp distrust of surveillance culture and institutional overreach.

Roy Scheider stars as Frank Murphy, a veteran LAPD helicopter pilot chosen to test-fly Blue Thunder, an experimental attack chopper equipped with unprecedented urban surveillance technology. When Murphy discovers a covert plan to weaponize the aircraft for domestic control, he turns against the system, launching a breathtaking aerial rebellion above the Los Angeles skyline. What follows is a high-stakes pursuit through city canyons, government secrecy and moral reckoning.

Co-starring Warren Oates, Malcolm McDowell and Candy Clark, Blue Thunder remains a gripping analog-age action landmark.
