Candy Stripers [Blu-ray]

Candy Stripers Blu-ray presents Bob Chinn’s 1978 cult hospital comedy in a region free limited edition from Quality X. Newly scanned, restored in 4K and presented uncut from the original 35mm camera negative, the film arrives with new interviews, archival materials and collector packaging.

Set inside City Hospital, the film follows a group of young volunteers and staff members as their busy workday leads toward a farewell celebration for Sharon, who is spending her final day on the job. With the strict staff coordinator Sarge threatening to spoil the fun, the hospital becomes the setting for a lively mix of workplace comedy, mischief and late-1970s cult energy.

One of Bob Chinn’s best-known genre titles, Candy Stripers features Amber Hunt, Sharon Thorpe, Paul Thomas, Cris Cassidy, Joey Silvera and Richard Pacheco. This limited edition Blu-ray includes a 4K restoration, new interview with Chinn, audio interview with Richard Pacheco, film-element featurette, trims and outtakes, archival gallery, booklet, replica one-sheet, double-sided cover art and limited spot gloss slipcover.
