Cash On Demand Blu-ray presents Hammer’s tightly wound Christmas Eve heist thriller in high definition. Directed by Quentin Lawrence, this suspenseful chamber piece unfolds almost in real time as a cold, authoritarian bank manager (Peter Cushing) is psychologically manipulated by a suave criminal mastermind (André Morell).
Often described as Hammer’s take on A Christmas Carol, the film trades gothic horror for razor-sharp tension, anchored by Cushing’s superb performance as a man forced to confront both robbery and his own moral failings. Compact, clever and expertly staged, Cash On Demand is now widely regarded as one of Hammer’s finest non-horror productions.
