Countess Dracula Blu-ray + DVD presents Hammer Films’ 1971 gothic horror tale starring Ingrid Pitt as Elisabeth Nádasdy, an aging Hungarian countess whose obsession with youth leads her into deception, murder and blood-soaked madness. Inspired by the legend of Elizabeth Bathory, the film blends period atmosphere, dark romance and Hammer’s signature gothic style.

When Elisabeth discovers that bathing in the blood of young women appears to restore her youth, she begins preying on girls from the village with help from her steward. In her rejuvenated form, she becomes infatuated with the handsome Lt. Imre Toth and impersonates her own daughter in an attempt to win his affection.

As more women disappear and Elisabeth’s double life becomes increasingly dangerous, her hunger for beauty and power threatens to expose the horrifying truth. Co-starring Nigel Green and Lesley-Anne Down, Countess Dracula remains one of the distinctive later entries in Hammer’s gothic horror cycle.
