Crescendo [Blu-ray]

Crescendo Blu-ray presents Hammer Film Productions’ 1970 psychological thriller, newly scanned and restored in 2K from the original 35mm interpositive for its Blu-ray premiere.

American music student Susan Roberts travels to a secluded villa in the French countryside while researching the late composer Henry Ryman. She is welcomed by his widow Danielle and introduced to the eccentric household, including Danielle’s son Georges, maid Lilliane and the family’s stern butler Carter.

As Susan’s stay continues, unsettling events begin to surround her. The dead composer’s music is heard late at night, played by an unseen pianist, while Danielle becomes increasingly insistent that Susan wear the clothes of Georges’ former girlfriend, whom she closely resembles. Drawn closer to Georges but increasingly suspicious of the household, Susan begins to uncover secrets that place her in growing danger.
