Dark Star (UK Import) 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray presents John Carpenter and Dan O’Bannon’s cult sci-fi comedy in a definitive new 4K restoration sourced from the original 35mm film reels. A parody of serious space epics like 2001: A Space Odyssey, the film follows a dysfunctional crew of astronauts tasked with destroying unstable planets while grappling with boredom, malfunctioning AI, and a self-aware “smart bomb” questioning the nature of existence. Equal parts absurdist humour, philosophical sci-fi, and DIY ingenuity, Dark Star remains a foundational cult classic that launched the careers of two genre legends.
