Death of a Gunfighter [Blu-ray]

Death of a Gunfighter Blu-ray delivers a revisionist western anchored by a powerful performance from Richard Widmark, exploring authority, reputation and the shifting values of a changing frontier town.

Marshal Frank Patch has spent decades enforcing order in Cottonwood Springs, but the town he protected no longer stands behind him. When a killing in self-defence sparks outrage among local leaders, they move to remove him from power, setting off a tense standoff between lawman and community. As pressure mounts and loyalties fracture, the film builds toward a stark and uncompromising conclusion that reflects the fading myth of the Old West.

Grounded in character and conflict rather than spectacle, this late-era western examines what happens when justice becomes inconvenient, and the man who once upheld it is cast aside.
