Diane Limited Edition [Blu-ray]

Diane LE Blu-ray is a deeply moving portrait of family, aging and quiet resilience from filmmaker Kent Jones. Written specifically for Mary Kay Place, whose remarkable performance anchors every scene, the film offers an intimate look at a woman whose life has been shaped by devotion to others, even as she struggles to navigate her own grief, regrets and mortality.

Diane spends her days caring for friends, relatives and neighbours throughout a close-knit community, moving from one obligation to the next with little regard for herself. As she attempts to maintain fragile relationships and support her troubled son, the weight of the past begins to press ever more heavily on the present. Through moments of heartbreak, humour, kindness and reflection, the film captures the rhythms of everyday life with extraordinary honesty and compassion.

A longtime champion of world cinema through his work as a critic, programmer and collaborator of Martin Scorsese, Kent Jones delivers an assured and deeply personal directorial debut. Anchored by Mary Kay Place's career-defining performance, Diane is a poignant and richly observed character study that finds grace and beauty in life's ordinary moments.
