Don't Change Hands [Blu-ray]

Don't Change Hands Blu-ray delivers a daring and subversive neo-noir from French iconoclast Paul Vecchiali, twisting classic crime tropes by reversing power, desire, and gender expectations. What begins as a private-eye blackmail case quickly spirals into a dangerous web of sexuality, politics, and murder where nothing and no one is what they seem.

When a powerful politician receives a pornographic film starring her own son, she hires a hard-boiled female detective to uncover the source. As the investigation deepens, bodies pile up, identities blur, and the film abandons traditional noir morality in favor of something far more volatile. Vecchiali weaponizes eroticism, performance, and misdirection, creating a thriller that is confrontational, provocative, and defiantly queer.

Starring Myriam Mezieres alongside Helene Surgere, Howard Vernon, and Jean-Christophe Bouvet, Don't Change Hands stands as a singular work of 1970s French cinema, blending erotic thriller, political satire, and neo-noir into a uniquely unsettling experience. This North American Blu-ray premiere presents the film newly scanned in 2K from the original camera negative with an extensive slate of interviews and critical appreciation.
