Door (1988) (US Import) [Blu-ray]

Door 1988 Blu-ray brings Banmei Takahashi’s long-unavailable Japanese horror film to disc in the United States for the first time, presented from a new 2K transfer of the original camera negative.

Yasuko Honda lives a quiet life with her husband and son until an aggressive salesman refuses to take no for an answer. When she slams the apartment door on his hand as he tries to force a brochure inside, the confrontation sets off a terrifying campaign of harassment that steadily invades the family’s home and sense of security.

Blending home-invasion tension with the stylish menace of giallo-influenced horror, Door turns an ordinary domestic space into an increasingly claustrophobic nightmare. This Region Free Blu-ray includes an interview with director Banmei Takahashi, a new audio essay, captions and the original trailer.
