Explorers Limited Edition [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Explorers LE 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray brings Joe Dante’s beloved cult sci-fi adventure to collectors in a lavish limited edition loaded with new restorations, documentaries and exclusive packaging.

Inspired by recurring dreams of space travel and fueled by comic books, B-movies and youthful imagination, young Ben Crandall and his friends Wolfgang and Darren secretly construct a homemade spacecraft in suburban America after discovering mysterious technology hidden within Ben’s dream sketches. Their homemade journey into the cosmos soon leads to an unforgettable encounter with extraterrestrial life beyond anything they imagined.

Blending the childhood wonder of 1980s adventure films with affectionate nods to 1950s science fiction, Explorers showcases director Joe Dante’s signature mix of heart, humor and genre filmmaking. Featuring early performances from Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix, groundbreaking visual effects from Industrial Light & Magic and an iconic Jerry Goldsmith score, the film has become one of the defining family sci-fi cult classics of its era.
