Fear Strikes Out (1957) Limited Edition (Australian Import) [Blu-ray]

Fear Strikes Out 1957 Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Robert Mulligan’s biographical sports drama in its worldwide Blu-ray debut from Imprint. Anthony Perkins stars as Jimmy Piersall, the Boston Red Sox player whose rise from childhood sandlots to major league baseball was shaped by talent, pressure and personal struggle.

Based on Piersall’s memoir of the same name, the film follows his baseball career while exploring the severe effects mental illness had on his life and work. Karl Malden co-stars in this powerful early feature from Mulligan, who would later direct To Kill a Mockingbird.

Unflinching and emotionally driven, Fear Strikes Out remains a notable 1950s sports drama built around performance, ambition and psychological strain. This Limited Edition Australian import includes a 1080p Blu-ray presentation, new audio commentary, archival Anthony Perkins interview material and English HOH subtitles, limited to 1,500 copies.
