Filth (2013) (Australian Import) [Blu-ray]

Filth Blu-ray brings Irvine Welsh’s corrosive antihero to life in Jon S. Baird’s darkly comic descent into corruption and self-destruction. Adapted from the acclaimed novel by the author of Trainspotting, the film follows Bruce Robertson (James McAvoy in a fearless, career-defining performance), a manipulative, bigoted, drug-addled detective determined to secure a promotion at any cost.

Assigned to solve a brutal murder, Bruce schemes to undermine his colleagues by exposing secrets and sabotaging relationships, all while spiralling deeper into addiction and hallucination. As the festive season descends into chaos, his fractured psyche begins to turn against him. Brutal, hilarious, and unflinchingly bleak, Filth is a vicious character study of a man waging war on everyone — including himself.
