Forbidden Planet (Limited Edition) [Blu-ray]

Forbidden Planet Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Fred M. Wilcox’s landmark 1956 science-fiction classic in a brand-new 4K restoration from the original 35mm negative, presented for the first time in its original 2.55:1 CinemaScope aspect ratio.

In the 23rd century, a United Planets starship travels to the distant world of Altair IV to investigate the fate of an expedition that disappeared years earlier. Commander John Adams and his crew discover only three apparent survivors: scientist Dr. Edward Morbius, his daughter Altaira and the remarkable Robby the Robot.

When the mysterious force responsible for destroying the original expedition begins to strike again, the crew must uncover its connection to an ancient civilization that once inhabited the planet. Blending Shakespearean influences with groundbreaking production design, visual effects and electronic music, Forbidden Planet became one of the defining science-fiction films of the 1950s.
