An evening at a Japanese theatre turns into a hostage crisis in Frantic. The audience is forced to remain in its seats and watch a play, but the people controlling the performance begin losing control of events. As the production veers away from its script, the separation between staged violence and real danger breaks down.
Writer-director Shugo Fujii, whose work includes Mimicry Freaks, brings together Takahiro Ochi, Toshiki Kudo and Ayaka Yamagami for a thriller built around a performance that cannot simply stop when things go wrong. This BayView Blu-ray presents the film in Japanese with English subtitles and includes the directorās audio commentary and behind-the-scenes material.
