George Stevens: A Filmmaker's Journey (US Import) [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

George Stevens Jr. explores his father's life through the films he made, the people who worked with him and the extraordinary experiences that shaped his outlook. Interviews with actors and fellow filmmakers accompany scenes from classics including Swing Time, Gunga Din, A Place in the Sun, Shane and Giant. Stevens's own color footage of World War II provides a powerful contrast to his earlier comedies and musicals, illuminating the changes in his postwar work. This documentary traces both a remarkable Hollywood career and a son's effort to understand the man behind the camera.
