Gialli, Guns & Gore! Films of Darren Ward 3-Disc Set [Blu-ray]

Gialli, Guns & Gore! The Films of Darren Ward Blu-ray collects the complete works of British independent action and crime filmmaker Darren Ward in a definitive three-disc set celebrating underground excess, splatter violence, and Italian exploitation influence.

Beginning with early shorts and exploding onto the scene with Sudden Fury (1998), Darren Ward established himself as a fearless voice in low-budget British genre cinema. Described by Mondo Digital as “an astonishing frenzy of gangster gore,” Sudden Fury set the tone with its relentless brutality and uncompromising vision. That ferocity continued with A Day of Violence (2009), a grim, punishing descent into moral rot and serial violence, hailed by critic MJ Simpson as a film about “deeply unpleasant people doing extremely violent things to other deeply unpleasant people.”

The trilogy concludes with Beyond Fury (2019), Ward’s most ambitious and stylistically refined feature. A giallo-infused revenge nightmare inspired by Italian crime and exploitation cinema of the 1970s and 1980s, the film was praised by Starburst as “a love letter to Italian exploitation films… a brash, gory revenge flick that rises above its humble origins.”

Featuring cult legends David Warbeck and Giovanni Lombardo Radice, Gialli, Guns & Gore! stands as a raw, uncompromising document of independent genre filmmaking driven by obsession, violence, and grindhouse spirit.
