Beth, her younger sister Annie and their friend Ruby are struggling to keep their families afloat when they decide to rob a local supermarket. The money promises a quick escape from unpaid bills and personal crises, but the store's connection to a criminal operation turns their desperate plan into a much larger problem. Trying to repay what they owe pulls the women toward money laundering, deception and increasingly dangerous bargains. Beth's relationship with gang leader Rio further complicates their efforts to maintain ordinary home lives. Across four seasons, the trio's friendship is tested as the demands of parenting collide with their growing confidence in a business they never expected to enter.
