Hoagie (Standard Edition) [Blu-ray]

Hoagie Blu-ray delivers a wildly original slice of no-budget genre filmmaking, blending creature-feature chaos with DIY ambition and genuine heart. Written and directed by Matt Hewitt, the film is a gleefully unhinged tribute to the “little bastard” subgenre, filtered through a fiercely independent, personal vision.

When a mysterious egg hatches an impish creature capable of granting immense power, kindly family man Brendan Bean finds himself forming an unlikely bond with the bizarre being. Elsewhere, the unhinged Benny Piazza leads a violent militia in pursuit of the same magical homunculi, setting the stage for escalating mayhem. What follows is an unpredictable collision of friendship, obsession, and practical-effects-driven carnage.

Packed with goopy latex creatures, squibs, and handmade effects, Hoagie stands as the culmination of years of underground experimentation. Art Label presents the film on Blu-ray in its standard edition, loaded with an extensive slate of extras that celebrate the process, influences, and surrounding creative world.
