Home of the Brave (1949) Limited Edition (Australian Import) [Blu-ray]

Home of the Brave 1949 Limited Edition Blu-ray presents Mark Robson’s acclaimed postwar drama in a Region Free Australian import release. Produced by Stanley Kramer and adapted by screenwriter Carl Foreman from Arthur Laurents’ play, the film was one of the earliest Hollywood productions to confront racism directly, with James Edwards in a landmark leading performance.

Private Peter Moss returns from a dangerous reconnaissance mission on a Japanese-held island unable to walk, despite doctors finding no physical cause for his paralysis. As an army psychiatrist guides him through memories of the mission, lost friends and the prejudice he has experienced throughout his life, Moss is forced to confront the psychological source of his condition.

Also starring Lloyd Bridges, Frank Lovejoy and Jeff Corey, Home of the Brave combines wartime drama with a serious examination of racism, trauma and friendship. This Limited Edition Australian import includes a 1080p Blu-ray presentation, new audio commentary and a 1952 radio adaptation, limited to 1,500 copies.
