Illustrious Corpses Blu-ray presents Francesco Rosi’s razor-sharp political thriller, a labyrinthine noir that dissects corruption at the highest levels of power. When a series of Supreme Court judges are assassinated, Inspector Rogas (Lino Ventura) is assigned to investigate. What begins as a procedural mystery spirals into a chilling conspiracy, revealing a web of institutional decay and state manipulation.

Adapted from Leonardo Sciascia’s novel and underscored by Piero Piccioni’s haunting score, the film blends paranoia with moral urgency. Featuring commanding performances from Charles Vanel, Max von Sydow, Fernando Rey, and Luigi Pistilli, Illustrious Corpses stands as one of the defining political thrillers of 1970s European cinema.
