K2 [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

K2 4K Ultra HD brings Franc Roddam’s gripping high-altitude survival thriller to home video in its most definitive presentation to date. Set against the unforgiving majesty of the world’s second-highest mountain, K2 is a stark, character-driven exploration of obsession, endurance, and the fragile bonds of friendship when pushed to their absolute limits.

Michael Biehn stars as Taylor Brooks, a driven attorney whose lifelong dream of conquering K2 draws him into a dangerous expedition alongside his closest friend, physicist Harold Jamison (Matt Craven). Though bound by ambition and mutual respect, the two men are ill-prepared for the brutal realities of the climb, where thin air, unpredictable weather, and human frailty conspire against them. As the ascent grows more perilous, their survival depends not just on skill or strength, but on trust — a resource that proves far more fragile than rope or ice.

Directed by Franc Roddam, K2 stands apart from typical adventure films by grounding its spectacle in realism and psychological tension. Featuring breathtaking mountain photography and a restrained, unsentimental approach to danger, the film captures the awe and terror of extreme mountaineering while confronting the personal cost of chasing greatness.

This 4K Ultra HD edition presents K2 from a new scan of the original camera negative, restoring the film’s sweeping landscapes and stark contrasts with striking clarity and depth.
