Kiss of the Spider Woman [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Kiss of the Spider Woman 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray brings Héctor Babenco’s daring, intimate political drama to new clarity, capturing the transformative relationship between two men imprisoned under a brutal military dictatorship. Adapted from Manuel Puig’s groundbreaking novel, the film follows Valentin (Raul Julia), a revolutionary activist, and Molina (William Hurt, in his Academy Award–winning role), a queer, movie-obsessed window dresser who survives through the escape of glamorous film fantasies. As the two cellmates clash, confide, and slowly connect, their bond reshapes their understanding of sexuality, masculinity, love, and loyalty. Blending stark realism with the lush dream cinema that defines Molina’s inner world, this landmark of LGBTQ+ and political filmmaking stands as a profound vision of liberation—both personal and collective.
