Krakatit Deluxe Limited Edition (US Import) [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Krakatit Deluxe Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD presents Otakar Vávra’s visionary Czech sci-fi noir in a stunning new 4K restoration. A haunting blend of paranoia, dream logic, and atomic-age dread, the film stands as one of the most unique and underseen works in world cinema.

Following a chemist haunted by fragmented memories of a devastating invention, Krakatit unfolds as a feverish journey through shifting realities, conspiracies, and existential terror. Drawing comparisons to film noir and early psychological thrillers, the film’s layered narrative and striking black-and-white cinematography create an atmosphere of relentless unease.

Based on the novel by Karel Čapek, the film explores the moral consequences of scientific discovery, presenting a chilling vision that feels far ahead of its time.
