Little Odessa [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Little Odessa 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray presents James Gray’s acclaimed directorial debut — a bleak and emotionally devastating gangster drama that announced the arrival of one of contemporary American cinema’s most distinctive filmmakers.

Hitman Joshua Shapira returns to the Brooklyn neighborhood he once fled after accepting a contract killing assignment in Brighton Beach. But his violent criminal life soon collides with the fractured family he left behind: his abusive father, his terminally ill mother and his younger brother, who still idolizes him despite the darkness surrounding his return. As old wounds reopen and tensions escalate, Joshua finds himself trapped between duty, guilt and inevitable tragedy.

Drawing inspiration from classic noir and Russian literary tragedy, Little Odessa combines haunting wintery visuals with deeply human performances from Tim Roth, Maximilian Schell, Vanessa Redgrave and Edward Furlong. Winner of the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival, James Gray’s debut remains a powerful meditation on family, violence and fatalism.
