Macho Dancer [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

Macho Dancer 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray presents Lino Brocka’s 1988 Filipino drama from Kani and OCN Distribution, newly restored in 4K from Viva Films’ original film elements. One of Brocka’s most internationally recognized later works, the film blends social melodrama, neon-lit nightlife and pulp provocation into a sharp portrait of exploitation and survival.

After losing a reliable client, Pol leaves his province and heads to Manila, entering the world of nightclub dancers, hustlers and people trying to get by on the margins. Guided by fellow dancer Noel and streetwise Bambi, he discovers a city shaped by desire, danger, corruption and economic desperation.

Censored on its original release and successful overseas, Macho Dancer remains a vivid, socially conscious work about class, sexuality, power and survival in late-1980s Manila. This 2-disc set includes the film on 4K Ultra HD and Region A Blu-ray, interviews, archival featurette, trailer, reversible sleeve artwork and a limited spot gloss slipcover designed by Tony Stella.
