Maple Syrup Pix, Vol. 1 [Blu-ray]

Maple Syrup Pix, Vol. 1 Blu-ray brings together two landmark Québec sex comedies from director Claude Fournier, restored by Éléphant - mémoire du cinéma québécois and presented with extensive new supplements.

Two Women in Gold follows neglected suburban housewives Fernande and Violette as they reject the routines of married life and embrace the sexual freedom emerging around them. Written by Fournier with Marie-José Raymond, the film became a major commercial success in Québec and helped establish the popularity of the era’s so-called “Maple Syrup Porno” cycle.

The Apple, the Stem and the Seeds! reunites Fournier and Raymond for a broader comic take on relationships and sexual anxiety. Newlyweds Martial and Louise find their marriage unexpectedly complicated when Martial develops a sudden case of impotence, prompting increasingly elaborate attempts by friends, family and professionals to help.
